MAKE TIME: generative morning sessions
Every Monday in December, 9-10am/EST - $100-200 sliding scale*
In the spirit of morning pages as a practice, we’ll gather early on five Mondays to write from a soft space still close to dream state, with little expectation and tremendous openness and hope. Each session includes a brief, grounding meditation, time to respond to the creative prompts, and optional sharing. We will not be workshopping or critiquing. Instead the focus is on generation and flow. Bring a notebook and warm beverage.
*suggested: $100=pressured resources / $150=balanced resources / $200=abundant resources / / / / / / If MAKE TIME sounds like what you need this December and you want to join but can’t pay in full, or at all, please include a brief message when you register. I offer comped spots each month.
*Payment of $150 or more includes (optionally) a 30-minute 1-1 conversation about your creative work &/or process/vision.

SOLAR YEAR: An ORbit for your book/creative project
SOLAR YEAR: an orbit for your book/creative project
13 meetings, across one solar year, on Wednesdays, 7-8:40pm/EST
culminates in a celebratory online reading/performance
$525-975+ sliding scale**
Using the framework of the SOLAR YEAR, our creative orbit starts with water energy near the upcoming winter solstice. We’ll meet every four or five weeks (13 sessions total) from December 18, 2024 through December 17, 2025 to support the collective progress (and, if desired, completion) of your book-length project (other long-term creative projects also welcome!). All media & genres welcome. The facilitator is a poet and experimental video-maker, so we will primarily be referring to poetry texts, but our most recent cohort included poets, essayists, fiction-writers, journalists, scholars, and memoirists. We’ll focus on generative rituals and habits, broad consideration of craft & structure, and, most importantly, supportive community and gentle accountability. This space is designed to nurture your projects, collectively and individually. It’s not a workshop*. It’s a generative communal force, led by a trained educator, healing arts practitioner, published writer, and Somatic coach.
*You’ll be encouraged to periodically share excerpts of your work, and to discuss, in some depth, your process. But you will not be critiquing each other’s full projects. If group members would like to swap on the side, that is, of course, welcome, but not an expectation. If you’d like 1-1 manuscript consultations, there will be sliding-scale options along the way.

What people are saying about open language workshops:
“Please please offer a sequel to the workshop. It was truly amazing!”
“Your workshops are giving me so much.”
“I wrote one of my best poems by the end of the workshop!”
“So inspiring and pleasurable.”
“Every time you brought us back to our bodies, my poems improved. I loved that.”
“This workshop seemed to honor slowness as a form and a vibe, but also created containers and time-bound commitments to go deep and produce writing.”
“This class was the first time I've actually felt momentum.”
“I have always wanted and needed something like this, but I didn't know that it was a real possibility. Thank you for dreaming this up and making this happen. Truly magical.”
“I've been in a long creative block and the time, prompts, somatic exercises helped me push through and get a different perspective on creativity and my self.”
“I loved it! I think you created an engaging, low-barrier space to participate and open up in a way that each person could follow in their own direction.”
“I love how the generative openings ground the space in experimentation and praxis, not as opposed to form but AS form. I've been thinking a lot about embracing chaos and expanding my ideas of what poetry, including my poetry, can be (look/sound) like, and this workshop has been so nurturing for that. So enriching, so nourishing.”
“I cannot wait until the next one.”
